City Council Member Vies for Controller
Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz announced today that he was throwing his hat into the ring for LA City Controller during the race in 2020. Koretz has been on the council since 2009 and has played an active role in shaping the City Government, especially through his activities on the Budget and Finance Committee. In 2021, Koretz will reached his three term limit (of four years each) on the LA City Council, presumably prompting him to make the move.
During his time on the City Council, Koretz has gained a reputation for being fiscally conservative and highly procedural. His talents will no doubt be useful in the Controller’s office.
